Over Yonder

Yet another sky! Today was particularly amazing though. There seemed to be two stages of the suns retreat. The first, picured above, was when the almost set sun was blocked by a dark raincloud. As can be seen, it was quite a sight. The second half was when the sun finally set which was also very pleasing.

Drop Top

Spied this beauty parked with the roof down half way across the road in a carpark. Nice one. If I ever get rich, I'll buy my dad one of these!

Tree Top

Today was a fantastic day. These two photos have been selected out of a massive 93 I took! The above picture is looking up at the trunk of a tree I climbed today. I thought it was appropriate as it captured the warm bright summery colours of the day and in its own right, looks pretty cool.

Back to my roots, climbing tall trees! This time, rather foolishly however, in Nikes?

Rather graphic title, but a great tune!

Sunbeam Saturday

The forecast for today was rain. It was a fantastically sunny day. Here is some vibrant, yet unfortunately slightly effeminate, proof. I also learned how to wallpaper a wall today.

I finally got hold of Aperture 2 today.

Super Skyway

There was a fantastic sky this evening. This week has been truly exceptional where the weather was concerned. The cloud formation like an enormous highway starting small on the horizon and then blasting overhead about a mile across. The above photo was a combo-composition of two exposure ranges. I wanted the impressive sky towering over the horses in the field. To see the highway sky I described, see below for a smaller image and then the link below that for a larger version!

Lethal Vapours

A DT themed photo today, to mark the primary stage completion of my coursework in preparation for the exhibition on Sunday. There are two things that do not cooperate, no matter what the situation, are Macs and windows formatted printers. I would destroy every single last one if given the opportunity. The photo today is a fiber-glass resin hardener that smells like it has just come straight from a Brixton meths lab. Nice!

April Summer

No, not some c-list celebrity...summer come early! In between work and revision, a break was greatly needed. Here is the grass next to me as I basked in the sun.

A very special sky tonight. I had to run from life drawing, leaving my supplies for some one else to deal with, so that I could get this photo. It is a dedication to all others who love skies!

Sussex Wildcat

In what way could a lovely summers day get even better? Having a Bowler Wildcat show up at school of course. The owner of the car had brought his 7 year old daughter to a swimming gala in it (Hah). Having been parked in the carpark for about an hour, a large mob had gathered including me that was eagerly awaiting to see it drive off. When it finally did, the wait was worth it. The 4L engine almost knocked us off out feet and sent grins across our faces. Phwoar, what a car!

When not on the school run, this is what these machines do!

Good old reliable skies! Back to college today. I did learn however, amongst heavy revision of course, that there is a thriving Dubstep community in the Bay Area.

Lasers

Journey To The West! This is supposed to be a daily photo blog but as an exception, I nicked these three snaps from a photo shoot that happened yesterday. All the images are from a night drive in search of a pub. This one is perhaps a typical long exposure whatever light trail thing. However, on closer inspection, a Supra with its demonic red and yellow back lights is lurking in the antique looking foreground. Yeahh.

This is West Sussex seen from the Jack and Jill. Yeah.
Small pics here as the top one is the focus.

Here is a roadsign. This picture wasn't possible, but I got it!
Photo of luck. Small pics here as the top one is the focus.

Here is a paragraph of interesting text!
"(A) Proteins immunoprecipitated with EMS1. Normal (N), Ras-transformed (R), and HS1-transfected Ras-transformed (H) NIH 3T3 cells stained with Coomassie blue. HC, a protein of 200 kDa comigrating with myosin II heavy chain; AC, actin of 42 kDa. (B) No effect of Ras transformation on the expression levels of myosin II heavy chain (HC), actin (AC), and EMS1 (E). (Top panel), Coomassie-blue stained gel of the lysates from normal (N) and Ras-transformed (R) NIH 3T3 cells. (Bottom panel) Immunoblot showing the level of EMS1 in normal (N) and Ras-transformed (R) NIH 3T3 cells. EMS1 had a size of 85 kDa. Fifty micrograms of protein was loaded in each lane. (C) Effect of ATP. Dissociation of HC from the actin-EMS1 complex in the presence of 5 mM ATP (+). (D) Effect of SCH51344. Both myosin IIA heavy chain (HC) and actin (AC) were immunoprecipitated with EMS1 from Ras-transformed cells treated with SCH51344 (+) but not with cells without () drug treatments. Sepia Sun Selection

To make up for some successive rain checks, I have gone all out today with three daily photos. Brighton was the destination and on arrival the weather went all out with sun and blue sky. Here are some cool old rusty chains next to the Brighton Fishing Museum. Yes, it is a cool place.

The thing that looks like a half pipe but wouldn't work as one...

The beach, the pier and the sea!

and no song of the day recently because my youtube wont load videos. Very Frustrating.

Upwards & Onwards

Contrary to what was said yesterday, this pair of photos are daytime shots. I went for a long bike ride across the downs today. The sun was warming and the light was perfect, what more could I ask for? This image is a macro on some shrubbery on the side of the South Downs.

There is one part of the downs called the 'Tank Traps'. Unfortunately there is nothing to do with tanks there, however there is a downhill selection of jumps and courses that are perfect for mountain and motocross bikes. The ascent is long and arduous but the descent, in terms of an adrenaline rush, just immense! Back to the photo, this silhouette is me just before I plummeted to the bottom. There was a strange cutaway that made the shadow really noticeable!

Nocturnal Adventure

Why so many night shots? Because night shots rock! This is the grand gatehouse to the Royal Pavilion in Brighton at about 10.45. What was I doing at the pavillion at 10.45 at night in a Tuesday? It was a Secret Midnight Mission of course. Thanks to Nick for waiting around for the long exposure(s) to process.

Brighton Beach at about 10.15. It is rare to see sand at this part of the beach. Therefore a commemorative long exposure was a fitting tribute. Slightly late with these two photos but hey, I think its been worth the wait!

BHM

Two quite contrasting images today. First up is my eye! However disturbing it may appear, it does have a purpose. My art project has recently swung in a new tangential direction, with the subject being eyes. So this was primary research I'll have you know!

Making note of the fantastic weather, here is a tulip from the garden. I think Holland is famous for tulips, and more specifically Amsterdam. I have heard stories of the fields of colour and one day, I will have that as my daily photo!

Cloud Break

I just managed to snipe a nice shot of the sky today after a bombardment of mist and cloud. I seem to be giving this blog a Sepia makeover at the moment but that may change soon. It is hard to make out, but at the bottom of the picture is a road leading off into the distance. I have a history with that piece of road and treat it carefully whenever I tread its path. Drama under the downs today as well!

Black Wood

What a great name, The Black Wood. When walking through it, there is the ever present expectancy of seeing a well from the ring around every corner. Thankfully however, all that meets the eye is meter after meter of snowdrops carpeting like snow across the ground. I thought this was both a creepy but also interesting shot. The branch seems to act like a roof over the plants, almost protectively.

A fruitful photo-filled day with two images to display. Here is a tree and a dog.

Steep Ascent

Today I attempted to run up the downs. Having collapsed somewhere along the way, this photo was taken. The car was also washed today but the evidence will have to wait until tomorrows photo.

Here was something else along the way. A sign of spring...and a significant symbol too.

Song of the day: Blackalicious- Deception

Lazy Git

I forget to take any photos today until the last minute. My 10.00 dog walk set off some alarms so the tripod was fetched and the long exposed sky shots commenced. There was an amalgamation of thin cloud cover which provided for some intriguing moon oriented photos. All in all, I think I came away from it with some really interesting ones. Maybe I should be lazy more in the future, although Im sure my Dad would step in with something to say about it.

More Album cover work. This time for a fantastic Berlin Minimal producer under the name of Lutzenkirchen. When I first came across their music it wasn't a love at first sight situation, but, with time, Ive come to note the layer buildup quality and beat arrangements which make for a really good listen.

Mountain Dew

What a great colour! The fact that it is, in reality, algae sludge is another matter. Today I attempted to embrace my inner child. Therefore, it was a good day! I can now also use my iPod in my car after many trials and tribulations. Thanks Amazon!

Clean Cut

I dropped by Brighton today to do some chores which included going to the bank. Luckily I passed by this beast on the way parked perhaps intentionally with its rims in a perfect sideways stance. Not so lucky however was the guy in the bank who had a stroke. Ive been seeing adverts everywhere recently about how to spot one. It hits home when you see it for real! Back to the Audi, I have been astounded at the new 'A' and 'S' ranges. They are absolutely stunning examples of automotive design. Although this shown model is only an A6, whereas the S6 would have been a thousand times sweeter, it is still bloody beautiful.

Special Sky

This one goes out to the sky lovers! To get this shot, after having been alerted to the spectacle, I had to drive to the windmills and then run up another hill to frame this shot. The sun was beautiful, glowing like a molten coin. The whole thing really reminded me of some one!

FTW

Clear star filled night tonight! If only I also beheld the wonderful orange sky at 7:00! I like how there is a light trail for the moon! Obviously the earth rotated that much in the 15 second shutter speed duration.

Zooming past the hassocks golf course, I spied this tasty number plus about nine more all in a pub having some sort of meet. It was too good a photo op to pass by so I U-turned and came back for the money shot! Therefore, two photos today! Oh, and England won the football 2-1. Come On!!
