Last Day

I got caught in an almighty traffic jam today in Ditchling. Beware the 6.00 rush our. Also a crazy looking flying beast.

This will be the last update for a while. I am off to the South of France for a bit of sun.

Black White & Green

Some macro shots from today. I always think that this kind of photo is usually the most interesting. Things are an unusual scale and there is often a good amount of detail. Guess what, more rain today.

Trapped

This is supposed to be some metaphor for today. It represents the encapsulation one endures under particular weather conditions.

En Francais

When I paint the cow these days, it is inevitable that at some point I will be bombarded by a hoard of French holiday camp kids who cant speak any English but still try to converse. Argh. Friday is the beginning of two weeks in the south of France. I can finally escape this weather! One whole side of the cow is now pretty much finished.

Canvas

Why oh why is the English summer so bad. The weather is worse than the rest of the year. On the flip side of today, I went and saw Harry Potter which was very very good. I cant contemplate how any one could walk away from it complaining or mouthing off (As was heard exiting the cinema). Definitely looking forward to the next installment!

Mars Attacks

Tpday was a fantastic day! My family acquired a new car after a phoenomenal amount of time. It is different to the mini but not in a bad way. I am sure that relevant photos will follow in the future. Using this blog like a time line, here are some old posts that have almost tracked my automotive interaction over the months.
One of many Mini-inclusive photos - this one is a personal favorite.
The day of the crash - the morning of the 17th of May.
So hopefully this is a new beginning for more car inspired photos but without history repeating itself (Like it has more than once already).

Night Night

Today, some puddles and some plants. The weather was shocking all day long. This was especially reinforced when I walked to Keymer in it! Tomorrow is a big day! Its like Christmas as a kid (Which sadly kinda stopped this year and last). Both of these images were long exposures and the one with the plants, to the human eye, had a black night sky as a backdrop.

Back To Black

I took a detour on the way home from painting more of the cow today. I like this bridge for some reason. Due to exams and being generally busy, Its been almost half a year since my last visit.

Splash Of Color

This then wraps up my Prague posts. I seem to be doing well on European adventures at the moment and I hope there are many more in the future. Prague is an amazing city and I would certainly recommend it to anyone. Now to sort through the 934 photos and make a slideshow!

Sendoff

Having spent alot of time running from platform to platform trying to catch a running panel. I was only really successful on the last day in Prague. With the other set up playing Polyphonic golf, I ended up seeing a number of uncleaned pieces and a multitude of semi-remaining goodies. Here is yet another shot that should really be viewed in color.

Maybe I will do a special extra post for the photos that I thought should have been viewed in color to be believed.

Alfonse & Vitus

This post has no real flow to it. They are just a selection of images from the day I thought were significant. The top photo is of Alfonse Mucha's stain glass window in St.Vitus' cathedral within Prague castle. It was one of the most impressive sights of the trip. I had visited the Mucha museum two or three days before and developed a real attachment to his style and works. This shot should really be viewed in color for the full blow back experience. Whenever I take shots outside churches or cathedrals now, I always think of my trip to Italy with my Dad when we visited Florence shortly after his wallet was stolen. We spent time simply wandering the city looking at the sights, including the churches as that was just about all you can do in Florence with no money. We went to a church, Santa Maria Novella or something and I took some B/W shots of the hordes of people outside. Due to this I have always felt that churches, although being a religious centre are also a social and communal centre. I very much got this feeling again in Prague. The amount of money I had going for food and drink that day was not too dissimilar to Italy also in fact. Rant over. The last picture is of a nice car!!

Night To Day

I sneaked in a bit of color on this post. Today was another long day. After all, if one has gone on holiday for a week, why not make the most of all of it. The first photo was of yet another visit to main station. The second photo is of one of the many Metro escalators I traveled on throughout the week. The Praha metro is very convenient and comfortable. Also, if you play your cards right, it can be free. This also goes for the trams: 'Free-Tramming'. Being on a measly budget made this especially convenient. The third image is a silhouette of a corner of the Old Square in the Old Town. Finally the last photo is of a tree from my second attempt to go to Prague Castle. Unfortunately this was the one event that was a failure whereas the other two were successes.

Onwards & Upwards

I think that the first picture in this three piece set is one of my most favored out of the 934 photos of the trip. This Aston Martin V8 Vantage was nestled at the foot of the Vysehrad Church. It was a really interesting place, set back way off the tourist trail and sported some of the best doors I saw in Prague. The second picture is of a passing train headed to Hlavní Nádraží across a bridge which went to the south west corner of Prague.

Tercie čas

Today was yet another great day. The weather throughout the week was forecast to be non stop heavy rain. Conversely however, it only rained two or three times and never longer than half an hour.

Twist & Curl

Here is one of the coolest, most interesting, pieces of architecture Ive ever seen. The juxtaposition of such structures against the baroque facades of the 'Old Town' is remarkable. For this shot, I had to take six photos and stitch them together as the building is right next to the river.

Pražský Hrad

Here are some shots from my wanderings around Prague Castle. I think that the castle and the nearby 'Little Quarter' are some my favorite parts of Prague! This visit ended up being more of a short stay as there were more plans for the rest of the day but I did manage to get some sketching done.

In A Land Far Far Away

Here are some shots from my first day in Prague. The theme of today is trains (Obviously). The night before the flight, I managed to not sleep at all. Getting up at 4.00, flying for around 2 hours and then spending the day beginning to explore the city concluded with the heaviest sleep Ive had for years. All fun times of course!

Fourth Of July

Not that this is a particularly significant day for me but I did have my Summer Ball today! Also, the first half of today was spent playing paintball at holmbush! So, especially with a 3.00 bedtime, I am truly knackered!
