Like a Leaf

Dad spotted this fantastic caterpillar today while mowing the lawn. He also let me use his SLR to take some macros with as I left my camera at Nicks on friday night. The weather was against me today as I try to get my holiday project for college finished and printed before Wednesday.

Firestarter

Here is a shot that I took on my Dads camera in Cannes. This Lamborghini Murcielago SV was parked outside the Carlton Hotel along with some equally as mind blowing other cars. I then saw it a few days later at a Peage (Tollbooth) on the return journey from Monte Carlo. The driver looked young and possibly from Dubai. I suppose it only the mega rich who can afford to buy a car like this only to then paint it fluorescent fire orange and add some decals. I want this car!

Suits & Planes

Here is a shiny as can be chopper parked with presence in the south lanes. Today was Dads third Birthday day which included shopping in Woodies, Coffeeing at Costa and watching the Shoreham Airshow at his friend Dicks. The best moment of the day was when a Vulcan Bomber flew over. This is no ordinary plane as the link will reveal. It was a monstrous apocalyptic blade that looked like it would cause the demise of us onlooking lunch makers at any moment. When doing its rounds and turning bends, there wasn't much to remark apart from the size and shape of it. However, when it flew over and upwards with full thrust and afterburners on, every boy and man for 100 miles slightly wee'd themselves. It was the best engine sound I have ever heard in my life and that is saying something.

Time Out

Today was for once in a while now, a beautiful day. The sun shone with a hint of southern France about it and was at times uncomfortably hot. I took a trip to Newick to drop off Anna at a friends and then made a stop off at Fletching on my way home to visit the Grave and have some time alone. The sun had cooled down by then and was casting interesting shadows everywhere the eye looked. The drive home, along some windy but very scenic back roads supplied some more good photos and led me nostalgically past some old but not forgotten places. There is quite an agricultural theme running along here and I think I have just realised that this is one of my favorite parts of the English way.

Recovery Day

Instead of a nice long sleep in from the previous late night, I got up at 10.30 and went to play squash at the Olympos. It ended up not happening and the day continued. Instead of an early relaxed night, I went out again and got back at 11.30 having driven across most of Sussex. It was a good day but a tiring one. At some point I also did more of the cow. Results day has passed and its still not done.

Results Night

It was A-level results day today. Me and some mates headed down to Brighton to catch MSTRKRFT at the Ocean Rooms. It was an pumping night hence the significance of the paste up I spotted on the way there! I still cant hear properly!

Return of Blue

A sunny day in Brighton to celebrate Dads birthday a day early. We ate at Jamie Oliver's restaurant in the South Lanes. I thoroughly recommend it but also that you don't eat for the preceding few days leading up to you attendance. There was a wine called Ciao that came in a juice carton like tetra-pack and the food was served on 'planks' as opposed to plates. It was a great experience! This shot was taken on the seafront next to the Brighton Fishing Museum.

Slowing Down

A time to look out for cars, interesting people and focus in on the current music choice.

Final Stages

Today I was given a tour of the new classroom block at school as I was in painting more of the cow. Having previously been disgusted at the tastefulness of the construction and plans, it has actually turned out really well. The facilities are impressive and will definitely give the school a more current and modern edge. The top image is the 'conference/presentation' room. (Big!)

I also just realised this is the 200th post! Woo, Champagne all round.

Leap of Faith

At the end of the holiday the pool went a 'Mountain Dew' shade of green so the nearby river was the next port of call to escape the 35 degree heat.
