Sunday Ride

It was wet and rainy today but being my only free day of the week, I made the most of it and went for a bike ride. Here are some pictures from the trip.

Aching Cheeks

A hectic but amazing day. NCFE, then work, then off to the Komedia with Nick and Andy. What a fantastic night it was. I thoroughly recommend the Krater Comedy Club. If you can tolerate a bit of vulgarity and more than a bit of swearing, actually also more than a bit of vulgarity, then get down there. It only cost me a tenner to get in (being a student and all) and apparently you can get a special ticket that includes a meal. My favorite comedian of the night was Pete Johansson, who's CD I bought at the end of the night. We were really late getting to the gig (lucky to have got seats kind of late) which may have been because I was running after this R8 in town madly trying to photograph it. On the way home we went over Devils Dyke which is a great road. Oh and the title is pretty self explanatory, as it started to get painful after act two but it was worth it!

Rain Droplets on the wall almost like a Japanese bamboo leaf print.

Oscar & the Train

I took these tomorrow. The first one is Oscar from my photography class from a studio lighting induction. Essentially it was, "you lot, go down the corridor to that other studio and get on with it, you know teach yourselves". All good, this is the best way to learn. The picture isn't particularly good but it was fun experimenting with remote flash triggers and being in a studio atmosphere. Its nice being 'behind' the camera.

Locker

I strongly advise watching the new film 'The Hurt Locker'. Apparently it won loads of awards. Im not surprised. Go on, get sucked in.

Lineup

I cant understand how everyday without fail a really nice lineup of card parks outside college on the double yellow lines with 'disabled badges' in the windows. It has been everything from this turquoise BMW above to huge Range Rover Sports. They are great to look at everyday but the question begs how and why are people with these cars at City College. Also the weather was awful.

Paint

Cool things going on here. I feel a pen tooled illustration coming on in response.

Saturday

Another day at work. I did however have something to look forward to for after wards in the form of a pub-trip. Unfortunately the night ended with a hub cap coming off after driving through a crater sized pothole somewhere near Handcross.

Friday Lights

I had work again today. Half term is almost over and I feel like it hasn't even started yet. This is a quick night visit to the Jack & Jill. I used the roof of the car as a tripod which was a bit precarious in the wind.

Journey To The West

I returned to Southampton today for an interview. The top image is the view of Arundel from the train at 70mph and the second photo sis one I snapped at Southampton central waiting to go back home. A noisy freight train rolled through which was interesting. Note in both photo's a MASSIVE amount of sunshine. It really made the day.

Special

Did you know that 'The Specials' originated in Coventry and their single 'Ghost Town' described the city after the car industry collapse. I went up North today to go to a uni interview. When it was over we popped into Coventry Cathedral which was quite a sight.

Featured

The Daily Photo makes it into my Uni Portfolio. These past few days/weeks have been absolutely manic. When all this Uni business is sorted I am going to be one happy chap.

Flood Lit

Even with the snow showers and rain, the floodlight is out and the tracks are worked on. Last night with the fog the light seems to continue for a mile in all directions giving the impression that an alien spaceship had just landed.

Saturday The 13th

This is India. I had my second day of work today which was long and tiring but I learned a lot. The photo was taken early in the morning on the Indian bank of the Kali river. I also went to Brighton in the evening to meet my friend Rob.

Return

I spied this sunset when driving home from college. It has been interesting watching the day get longer and longer since my birthday on the solstice.

Ice Ice

Snow, or icy hail rain droplets, is what the clouds chucked down today twice for the total time of about 10 minutes. If youre going to snow, snow properly!

GT

A Maserati I spied at the station. I then had the pleasure of hearing it drive off when I then picked my dad up later that night.

The shadow in my milk bottle. I thought this was interesting.

Shots

The first photo was me trying to capture negative space. The second one was a train i snapped at the station which I liked.

Last Day

Today was my last day at Budgens. Today was a great day! To celebrate I went on a mini pub crawl and chilled with some mates. Although following on from the night before and work all day I was running off purely the sugar content in my cider. Theoretically I should have been inside that car at the time the photo was taken but I wont dwell.

Renegade

Today was a long day. College, work, dinner, club. I saw Calyx headline Renegade Hardware's 15th anniversary at Audio. It was an amazing night to say the least. Here is a tune by calyx.

White Sixer

I drove to college today to bring in my work for collation. Interviews are in less than two weeks. I can remember even up to two or three years ago thinking 'how I'm so glad that all that is so far off'. I spied this 6-series coupe in the parking lot but the photos were all blurred. I have a feeling that my NV20 is coming to the end of its days. Its a shame because it is very small and practical.

Dutch Courage

A huge beyond belief truck with flowers from Holland. I am reminded of the film 'Layer Cake'.

Stubborn

I popped up to the Jack & Jill after college today to spy out the sunset. I was trying to get the colours in the sky as true as possible while still having the car properly exposed. Also, snow! No, this is not snow from today or yesterday but rather as month ago. Its still there. I think this is perfect evidence of how incredibly cold it is every day right now. I literally cannot wait for warm summer days and nights.
