Agility

I somehow got up at the crack of dawn today to attend Badgers Dog Agility class with Mum. It was great seeing him so active and playful amongst the obstacle courses and a multitude of small rat dogs. The hall was impressively big, situated just south of Pyecombe off the the A23. My favorite shot of the morning had to be this top photo though. Its Badger, looking cheeky, just about to do some hurdles!

Hot

Today was officially the hottest day of the year according to the weather man. England were turfed out of the World cup by Germany, which was sad. On the other hand it was a great day as we continued the festivities after the dreadful match with some heated 3-a-side football and a hearty BBQ. Of course there was still time in the evening for a cycle ride on my Geoffrey Butler.

I accidentally killed a rabbit today on my bike. RIP little rabbit.

The photos from the day are a selection taken in our wonderful summer Garden. Please have a look at the flower photo BIG to see it in all its glory. also, can you spot me in the top photo?

Three

More bikes as always. Why? Because I love bikes. Went for a ride to the track/polo-court/seafront in Brighton this evening which played host to an awesome sunset. Also, at Preston Park station there was an old steam train parked up with 200 or so trainspotters clicking away with their cameras. Picture opportunity with the bike of course!

Social Sunday

Today was a great day. We had the cousins come down for a BBQ where lots of steak and tomato/mozarella was consumed. I also spent alot of time continuing with the refurbishment of the Geoffrey Butler. She now has bar tape all fresh and newly wrapped around the drops and very well greased components. Paris, watch out. Now to get tires and a seatpost. I also popped into Brighton and fumed at the current price of panniers and racks in Evans Cycles.

Double GB

Not one but two Geoffrey Butler Bikes. The top one is my beautiful new bike from my Aunt with its 531 Reynolds tubing and awesome decals. The bottom one is my friend Robs new fixed gear project bike. However there is a slight problem with it to the point where there is no thread in the streering tube, at all. So unfortunately its being sold on for something more 'complete'. I need to get my GB ready for Calais>Paris so I best get a move on.

Tuesday

Today was manic. After getting up early to show some of mums friends around the show, I then drove to Dorset and back to bpick up my Aunts Geoffrey Butler vintage racing bike!!! It was worth the drive for sure, even if my legs were so achy at times I had trouble braking. It was nice to have lunch with my grandma and have a nice long chat with the both of them before heading back. Once back it was not yet time to stop, heading down to Brighton again to show some guys who have come back from Uni my final show (Again) and then back to Nicks for a BBQ. All in all a very tiring but great day. I've also realised that I like cats again.

Football

I played football today with some guys from work. It was the first time I'd played for about 3 years. Even with copious bike rides and what I thought was a revolution in my poor state of fitness, I crawled away from the session with burning sensations filling just about every crevice across my physique. To be honest, its now Thursday and I'm still in pain. Here is some HD football too!

Dawes

Im building up my dear Dawes as my Track Bike now. Notice the new Bontrager Crankset and my Alexrims-R500's almost ready to be actually used. All I need now are pedals and a tire/innertube.

Kingston

I went to London today to see the Kingston final show. To say the least I was very impressed. I also spotted this questionably resprayed Raleigh Fixed outside the building.

Fryup & Moth

I somehow managed to cook that breakfast myself without expert help. The moth was cool and the patterns on the bench, which I painstakingly washed today, was also very cool.

Frizza

Lots of photos today from a good day in Brighton. Tom and I went to see the end of year show at Brighton university, where he is going next year, to get a feel for what the standards are of current graduates (Hopefully us in three years time). There was of course time in the day for a two course meal opposite the Pavilion Gardens at Pinocchio's Restaurant (Chips and Mayonnaise Pizza with Lemon Sorbet to finish) and to spy on a cop questioning a group of gents. The pizza (Frizza) was heavenly.

BHBR

Today I attended the 2010 Burgess Hill Bike Ride. Andy and I rode our fixed gears along the 20 mile circuit in a total of 1 hour and 27 minutes. Not bad going as this equates to an average speed of 13.79mph. Its a great feeling whizzing fast past older guys fully kitted up with their £1000 trek bikes on a bike that cost a tenth and only has one gear. The weather was perfect, the company was good and the countryside was pleasing. So all in all a good experience.

Here are some photos from a woodland Badger walk some time this week. I love his eyes and tongue in the middle one.

End

Here is a little photo story of the end of a very long and enjoyable night. The sunlight at 5.30-6.00 in the morning is absolutely incredible. Cycling home after a full-english and very little sleep (None) was made all the more pleasant by this fact. I did feel like eternal death for the rest of the day however. The top photo is of a homeless person sleeping in the Level Skatepark. q

Beginning

I enjoyed the sun for the majority of today. In the evening, it was off to watch the races at Preston Park and then onto the College end of year party.
